Icarus:landed - 1993

solo for male dancer

Created for both Circle Ball Fair 93 as street performance and a continuation from the previous solo ‘Young Man Intrigued by the Flight of the Non-Euclidean Fly’ (1992), ‘Icarus:landed’ delves furthur into narative conflict showcasing spiritual metaphor. Where ‘Young Man...’ was a cacaphony of pedestrian kenetics and gestural motives, ‘Icarus:landed‘ features control and reservation through improvised segements juxtaposed to the extreme urban environment it was performed in.
